At home

Within a couple of days of being home Campbell had organised for me to start work with the company he was working for as a gardener. It was not ideal but it was a job and it was money and it would do till I became a journalist. One month turned into two months and then three etc. I applied for a few jobs as a journalist but was not getting anywhere and so I put my efforts into getting back overseas.
I studied to be a TEFL (Teach English as a Foreign Language) teacher as I felt it would open more doors to see the world. Ten months after starting the job as a gardener and property maintainer I decided it was enough and quit. The job really was not that bad and I was able to restock the bank acount and pay back some debts.
Life was pretty good too as I attended two AFL Grand Finals, the Formula One Grand Prix, the Moto GP. the World Superbikes and worked for a few days unpaid at a local paper. I was also best man at my mate Cam's wedding and met my nephew Keenan who was born in January. New Years Eve I spent in Sydney watching the fireworks off the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
Quitting the job I flew to Perth to meet Campbell and join him on his driving tour of Australia.
